Do You Know The Advantages Of A Furminator

If your dog sheds a lot, you may be considering buying a FURminator but may be put off by the price. But there are some benefits that may make this grooming tool, designed to reduce shedding, seem more worthwhile.

Uses

No matter what size FURminator you buy, it can be used on all of your shedding pets, from ferrets to horses. All sizes of FURminators use the same blades.

Time

You don't have to use the FURminator every day; it's fine to use it once a week, and it only has to be done for about 20 minutes.

How it Works

The FURminator does not cut fur like clippers do. It only pulls loose and dead hair from the animal's undercoat, leaving the topcoat in place.

Replacing the Edge

If you keep the cover on the blade when the blade is not in use, you shouldn't have to replace the blade on your FURminator often. The company claims the blades should last "the lifetime of your pet." The blades of the blue and purple tools cannot be replaced.

Shed-Less Treatment

If your pet is already professionally groomed regularly, having the Shed-Less treatment done by your groomer should fit into your dog's upkeep well. The treatment involves a bath with the FURminator shampoos, a blow-dry, brushing and the de-shedding tool. You can do the treatment yourself if you have access to a high-velocity pet blow dryer.
