If you're looking for an American Kennel Club (AKC) sanctioned dog show in Oregon, you're in luck. The Beaver State has kennel clubs in every region, and many of them hold annual all-breed dog shows. Most include breed-specific confirmation competitions, as well as obedience trials and other forms of competition. And if you're interested in a buying a dog from a breeder, there's no better place to meet one than at one of Oregon's dog shows.

The Rose City Classic

The Rose City Classic is a series of dog shows held in January of each year in the city of Portland, Oregon. The classic is "one of the biggest dog shows" in America, with about 4,000 dogs at the 2010 event, according to the Rose City Classic's website. In addition to several days of all-breed confirmation shows, the classic is host to AKC agility trials, including "try-outs for the AKC/USA World Agility Team that competes annually at the World Agility Championships," according to the website. Other competitions include obedience trials, a rally competition and AKC Canine Good Citizen tests. In addition, the show hosts a number of vendors.
