Coolers are available in a variety of sizes, colors and designs.
Coolers keep refrigerated items -- such as drinks and lunch meat -- cool for consumption. Coolers are a common sight during the camping seasons or on a boat. Boat coolers allow the angler to keep food and beverage on board so he does not have to interrupt his fishing trip to get a bite to eat. Unfortunately, since the inside of boat coolers are normally kept damp and dark it is not uncommon for mold to begin to grow. You should remove the mold from the cooler as soon as possible to keep it from contaminating items inside the cooler.
Instructions
1. Remove the boat cooler from the boat and place it outside on a level location. Remove any items that may be inside the cooler.
2. Rinse surface debris off and out of the boat cooler using a water hose.
3. Mix three drops of liquid dish soap, 1 cup of baking soda and 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket.
4. Submerge a sponge into the mixture. Begin scrubbing the inside of the boat cooler with the sponge. When the sponge becomes dirty or dry, submerge it into the mixture and continue scrubbing.
5. Saturate the sponge in the mixture and begin scrubbing the outside of the cooler. Rinse the inside and outside of the boat cooler with the water hose.
6. Fill a clean bucket with 1-gallon of water. Add 1 cup of bleach to the water. Saturate a cloth in the mixture.
7. Wipe the inside and outside of the boat cooler with the saturated cloth. The bleach-water mixture will disinfect the cooler and kill any remaining mold. Allow the mixture to sit on the cooler for 10 minutes.
8. Rinse the inside and outside of the cooler with the water hose. Wipe the cooler dry with a towel.
