Doberman Crafts

These Doberman Pinschers do not have the cropped ears that can make the dogs look so fierce.

Doberman Pinschers are medium-sized dogs with short, hard coats that have a fearsome reputation due to their use as guard dogs. However, they are also energetic and friendly dogs who are exceedingly loyal to their people. Creating different items that can be used for the Doberman or that feature the Doberman can show your pride and love of this beautiful dog.

Custom Collar

A handmade collar made from leather or a handwoven collar can be a lovely gift and accent on a Doberman's dark fur. One of the Doberman's personality traits that must be present in show dogs is a lack of fear -- shyness can cause a Doberman to be disqualified from showing -- so a collar saying "Fearless" would be very appropriate.

Picture T-Shirt or Purse

Iron-on printer paper is widely available and relatively inexpensive -- this material can be found at most office supply and craft stores. A T-shirt or cloth purse with a picture of the person's pet Doberman Pinscher ironed onto it would be a great way to show off an animal. For added fun, get a blank dog T-shirt that fits the Doberman and iron a picture of its owner onto that, so owner and dog are a matched set.

Cool Ties

Dogs have a hard time in the heat due to their inability to sweat to keep themselves cool. Doberman Pinschers have a harder time with the heat than some other dogs because they are larger and generally have very dark, if short, fur. However, you can help your dog alleviate the heat of the day by making a cool tie -- a tube of fabric with non-toxic water-absorbing polymer beads inside. The cool tie can be tied or buckled around the neck of the dog. The beads are relatively inexpensive, and can be found on the Internet or in craft stores. Make sure to use a durable fabric to prevent your dog from chewing it open.

Dog-Walking Shoes

Doberman Pinschers require a good amount of exercise, and that means a lot of walking or running for the Doberman's owner, too. Make an old pair of shoes look a little better while showing off your love for your Doberman by decorating your shoes with fabric paint. Use paint pens to write your dog's name or the word "Doberman" on your shoes. If you are especially skilled, you can even paint a portrait of your dog on your shoes.
