Breed A Rottweiler Having A Dog

Combining a Rottweiler with a pit bull creates an energy-filled and muscular puppy.

A pitweiler, or Rottweiler crossed with a pit bull, is a dog often desired by those who love either breed. However, both dogs need extensive training and guidance as they mature as both tend to be aggressive toward other animals. Energetic, intelligent and protective dogs, the crossbreed is simple to create, though only should be done by responsible individuals as the resulting animals can be a handful.

Instructions

1. Determine which animal you desire to be the stud, and which you want to be the dam. Find reputable breeders from which to get the dogs, double-checking they are the correct breeding age.

2. Write out a list of the qualities you desire in your puppies, from the physical characteristics to the temperament. Choose dogs that reflect your choices in both breeds.

3. Bring your dogs to the veterinarian and have both of them checked for any infections or parasites so they do not give them to each other or to the puppies. If unsure, also ask the vet to determine when the dam's time of heat is.

4. Place the dam and stud in two separate pens, near enough to each other that they can smell each other. Examine the female dog every day for signs of heat -- swelling around the vaginal area and a continuous mucus discharge.

5. Place the dogs in the same pen, three days after you begin to observe signs of heat in the female. Leave the dogs together for several hours. They also can be left together for several days if neither of them shows aggression toward each other.

6. Return the stud to where you borrowed it. Take care of the dam, keeping the female and its kennel clean, until it whelps, or gives birth.
