The Hoosier Great Dane Club is committed to the promotion and encouragement of quality breeding of purebred varieties of great danes. Club members also seek to protect and improve the significance of the breed by supporting sportsmanlike contests at dog shows, along with obedience trial events. Established in 1963 and incorporated in Indianapolis the following year, the Hoosier Great Dane Club urges breeders and members to accept the criterion of the breed as permitted by the American Kennel Club.
