Alkitas can be great pets, but they can also be loud. When your Akita is barking, it might seem like nothing you do can make him stop. However, with the right training, you can be the happy owner of a well-behaved Akita. There are several tricks to make sure that your Akita stops barking, and if you employ them all, you'll find that your home is a much more peaceful place.
Instructions
1. Make sure your Akita is comfortable. When you leave her during the day, she should have a place to go in your home. It should be a place that is just for her. You want to have a safe and comfortable kennel with toys, treats and blankets in it. Remember that if you put her in a kennel that is not comfortable, she will bark.
2. If you kennel your Akita, make sure that you cover her well with a blanket. This will help her understand she is in a den and should not bark.
3. Leave the TV on low, or a radio playing when you leave your Akita. She will be much less likely to get lonely.
4. Close the window shades and make sure that your Akita can't see out the windows when you are gone. She'll be less likely to bark at passers by this way.
5. If your Akita barks when you are around, use a spray bottle full of water to deter her from barking. Also, use a loud noise to scare her away from barking. This will help to deter her.
