Peoria is a fast-growing community of more than 150,000 people about 20 miles northwest of Phoenix. Peoria features 35 miles of trails, and is home to the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, the Rio Vista Community Park and Recreation Center, the Peoria Sports Complex, the spring training home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners, and the Challenger Space Center. Lis Doon Varna Irish Pub & Restaurant
Lis Doon Varna Irish Pub & Restaurant was designed and built in Ireland before being deconstructed, shipped, and reconstructed in Peoria. The establishment has two outdoor patios and two "cottages" in addition to the bar and restaurant. The cuisine includes traditional appetizers, authentic Irish food, and standard bar fare. Some of the specialty dishes are Oysters Rockefeller, potato and leek soup, Guinness wings, salmon cakes, shepherd's pie and bread pudding. Wednesdays are "Wine Down Wednesdays," and any party who orders four or more entrees is offered a free bottle of wine.

Fox & Hound Smokehouse and Tavern
The Fox & Hound Smokehouse and Tavern is more of an Irish-theme establishment that focuses on Irish ales and good times. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including standard American food like hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and pizza. The establishment does offer fish and chips, commonly called locally "one and one." Some Sundays are "flip Sundays," where you get to flip a coin to see if you pay for an entree or not. Half-priced burgers are offered on Mondays, and Wednesdays are buy 10 wings, get 10 free.
