Help your pitbull puppy gain weight.
There are many reasons why you may want to help your pitbull puppy gain weight. If the puppy comes from a rescue situation, he may have been neglected and be underweight as a result. Illness or other physical discomforts will lead to a lack of appetite, causing weight loss. A healthy pitbull will have a thin layer of fat over the rib cage and have a dip inwards at the waistline below the ribs when viewed from above.
Instructions
1. Feed your pitbull puppy 1 cup of dog food that has 30 percent protein and 20 percent fat twice a day.
2. Combine 5 pounds of ground raw meat, 5 cups each of whole grain cereal and slow-cooking oats, and 2 1/2 cups of raw wheat germ. Add in 3/4 cup each of vegetable oil and molasses, six egg yolks, five packets of unflavored gelatin and 2 1/2 tablespoons of a powdered weight-gain supplement. Mix thoroughly.
3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place small amounts of the balls in storage bags and store them in the freezer. To prevent the balls from sticking together in the storage bags when frozen, you can flash freeze them first. Place the balls in a pan and stick them in the freezer until they are frozen. Remove the frozen balls from the freezer, place them in the storage bags and put them back in the freezer.
4. Add two or three thawed balls to each feeding. Mix them in with dry food or simply crumble them on top.
5. Discontinue feeding the balls when your pitbull puppy reaches her ideal weight.
