Make Straight Hair Nappy
The "nappy" hair style is a wonderfully beautiful and stylish way to give yourself a messy look. If you weren't given the voluminous nappy look by birth, you can learn to replicate it by employing a few simple tricks and purchasing a few tools and products.
Instructions
1. Apply a curling or holding gel to clean, damp, towel-dried hair thoroughly from roots to tips. Set damp hair in tight, small curlers. Allow curlers to sit until dry; the longer you leave on the curlers, the more tight and close to the head that your curls will be. Sleep in your curlers or wear for a full day for a tight, high look.
2. Remove curlers gently, one at a time. Use hairpins to reform and pin loose curls against the head until you are ready to style, allowing curls to keep their shape and form. Spray head with hairspray to hold the curls.
3. When ready to style, remove pins one by one and use your hands to form the curls. Depending on the length of your hair, curls will be closer or farther from your head. To loosen curls, use your fingers to gently comb through. For tighter curls with more body, use a teasing comb at the roots of your curls to make the hair stand up and gain body. Reform or tighten any loosened curls with a small barrel curling iron or add frizz using your crimper.
