Develop A Truck Dog Box

If you're a dog lover, you probably take the family hound with you everywhere you go. However, if you drive a truck, you probably don't have a safe and comfortable place for the pooch inside your cab. A roomy, well-ventilated and cushioned dog box will give your dog a travel seat of his own.

Instructions

1. Drill several large ventilation holes in three of the 24-by-39 inch pieces of wood. These three pieces will act as the walls and ceiling of the dog box.

2. Drill four holes for the bolts in the remaining 24-by-39 inch section of wood, which will be the floor.

3. Screw these sections together, one at a time, along the 39-inch edge in order to form the outer shell of the dog box.

4. Drill ventilation holes into the two smaller pieces of wood. One will be the back of the box while the other will act as the door.

5. Screw one of these pieces to the back of the box, making sure it is securely attached along all four edges.

6. Hang the door on the front of the box using the hinges and latch.

7. Bolt the dog box to your truck bed's floor, using the holes you drilled earlier into the bottom of the box.

8. Sand down all the holes inside the box and make sure there are no splinters, rough edges or misdirected screws that can injure or aggravate your dog while you drive.

9. Lay down a carpet remnant, pillow, blanket or pad as floor covering for additional comfort.
