Georgia Bulldog Crafts

Georgia Bulldog fans will enjoy receiving crafts featuring the teams' beloved mascot.

The Bulldogs are the University of Georgia's (UGA) sixteen athletic teams, including football, basketball, equestrian and tennis. The school's mascot is Uga, an English bulldog. Many types of crafts featuring the school's colors of red and black can be made to pay homage to this popular team. Georgia bulldogs crafts make excellent gifts for UGA fans of any age.

Georgia Bulldog Scrapbook

A Georgia Bulldog scrapbook is an interesting craft to both make and receive. Begin with a red binder or scrapbook, and insert black, red or white pages. Fill the inside with Bulldog memorabilia, trivia and news. For an older Bulldogs fan or University of Georgia alumni, fill the inside with news articles, photographs and biographies of key players from his UGA days. For newer fans, consider adding articles about UGA's history, as they grow in their knowledge of the team. You might also include things like photographs of the recipient or yourself at UGA games, drawings of Uga, news articles about noteworthy games, ticket stubs and other memorabilia.

Easy Georgia Bulldog Pillow

Create an easy Georgia Bulldog pillow perfect for relaxing on while watching the game. Start with a basic square pillow form. Cut two red or black fabric squares two inches larger than the form -- for example, for an 18 inch by 18 inch pillow form, cut two 20 inch by 20 inch fabric squares. Using a complementary thread color, sew the two fabric squares together, right sides together, by stitching around three sides, with a 3/4 inch seam allowance. Turn the square right side out and attach an iron-on Bulldog appliqu , available online from many retailers. Insert the pillow form; fold in the raw edge on the fourth side, and stitch. For extra snuggle factor, use fuzzy fleece to create the pillow.

Georgia Bulldog Coloring Project

Young Georgia Bulldog fans will enjoy learning about bulldogs and decorating bulldog coloring pages. Consider providing your chosen artistic medium -- crayons, markers or paint -- in only red, black and white to avoid a rainbow of colors that don't represent the true Bulldog spirit. Let children color in a coloring page of a bulldog -- or even one of Uga himself. Printouts are available that point out the distinguishing features of bulldogs, like their jowly face and wrinkly body. Older children with a good handle on this may enjoy drawing, then decorating, their own bulldog print. Frame their masterpieces in a black or red frame.

Georgia Bulldog T-Shirt

A homemade Georgia Bulldog T-shirt is a great way for UGA fans to show their team spirit. Start with a plain T-shirt in your choice of red, black or white. Choose a medium: sharpies, iron-on appliques, iron-on transfers or puffy paint. Transfer your image of the UGA mascot onto your T-shirt. On a white or red T-shirt, print out an outline of a bulldog, and then trace the image onto the shirt with a permanent marker or paint. Fill in the details, free-hand. Or, use printable iron-on transfer sheets to print a picture of a bulldog, and then iron it on to the T-shirt.
