These dogs have strong instincts to hunt, and if their energy is not directed in a positive way, they can become overly hyper and hard to control. Hay Creek Kennel
Hay Creek Kennel is located on 80 acres in rural Gilman. It is family owned and operated. Limited numbers of dogs are being trained at any one time in order to give each dog proper training. Hay Creek Kennel uses the Silent Command System to train dogs. Any of their training programs are at least one month, with the dog staying at the kennel during his training period. Training courses offered are Bird Introduction/Puppy Development, Trained Retrieve and Backing or Honor Training.

Perfect 10 Kennels
Perfect 10 Kennels offers several levels of dog training. Courses include Refresher Training, Waterfowl Training, Retriever Training, Upland Game Bird Training, Obedience and Custom Training (for both puppies and adults) and Private Sessions. Head trainer and owner Rick Grant has been training hunting dogs for over 30 years.

Fly-n-Gun Kennels
Fly-n-Gun Kennel specializes in breeding English springer spaniels and Llewellyn setters. They will train any hunting dog, however. Trainers utilize the Smith family Silent Command System. The kennel is located 7 miles north of Thorp on an 80-acre ranch. This family-owned kennel was begun in 1998. In 2009, a new training facility was opened as well.

Cadens Kennel and Hunt Club
Cadens Kennel offers complete gun dog training for all pointer, spaniel and retriever breeds. They have both full-time training and one-on-one seminars available. A complete training program for all major pointing dog competitive events is offered, including AKC Hunt Test, AKC Field Trial, NAVHDA and NSTRA. Training is also provided for all major retriever hunt test events. The kennel is located in Campbellsport, 45 miles northwest of Milwaukee.
