Install Kennel Fencing

Use a fencing material that your dog won't be able to get through.

A kennel is a great place for a dog to be when outside. Whether your yard isn't fenced in or you just need a separate place to keep your dog away from the rest of the yard, a kennel will provide a good solution. There are a couple of different ways to install a kennel.

Instructions

1. Measure the area where you want to build the kennel. The perimeter measurement will indicate how many lineal feet of fence to purchase. The inside area (multiply the length times the width) is necessary for determining the volume of concrete needed.

2. Level the ground where the kennel will be installed. Nail 2-by-4s together around the perimeter to make a form in which to pour concrete. Pour concrete over the entire area.

3. Dig holes with a posthole digger for the metal posts. Space the posts 4 to 6 feet apart. The holes should be deep enough for about 3 feet of the posts to be underground. Insert the posts and fill with either packed hard dirt or concrete. If you use concrete, let it set for a few days to ensure the concrete is dry.

4. Use metal ties to secure the fencing material to the posts. Trim off the excess.
