Dog Mushing Tours In Alaska

Let this husky guide your sled on a tour of Alaska.

An Alaskan excursion involving dog sledding, also known as mushing, can combine both the excitement of the outdoors with the amazing capabilities of the sturdy Alaskan husky. Dogs are well cared for, trained and protected from the elements as they learn to transport guests across acres of snow. Tours can provide you with the opportunity to play with and observe the dogs up close plus learn about the sport of mushing from Iditarod and other sledding champions.

Alaska Icefield Expeditions

Alaska Icefield Expeditions runs a 300 Alaskan husky sled dog camp, taking guests on a combined flightseeing and dogsled ride excursion. You'll begin your day by putting on provided glacier boots, then ride in a helicopter over glaciers. The helicopters touch down in either Skagway or Juneau, where Iditarod and Yukon Quest mushers will take you and other guests out in teams. Mushing enthusiasts who would like a little more time with the dogs can book an overnight trip, where tour participants first spend time playing with the dogs, then mush their own sleds. Meals are included. Day trip tours take approximately two hours. There is no age limit.
