Home Design and Remodeling Show in Fort Lauderdale
Twice a year, in June and December, the Broward County Convention Center in downtown Fort Lauderdale hosts the Home Design and Remodeling Show. The show is managed by Home Show Management Corporation, a Miami-based company. The centerpiece of the show is a series of vignettes by interior designers who showcase their talents by presenting rooms that they have designed for local media personalities. You will also find exterior designers to design tropical spas and patios for your home as well as many licensed and insured remodeling contractors. In recent years, exhibitors have also included designers of decorative glassware, companies to set up a home theater for you, and builders of play equipment for your children. There are product demonstrations available, and you could even come home with a few free samples.

Design Center of the Americas
The Design Center of the Americas primarily serves professional decorators and their clients, but once a year the center opens its doors to the public for its annual sample sale. This sale takes place in April and features over 60 showrooms of samples, displays, and exhibits of fabrics, furniture, lighting, and accessories.

Home Design and Remodeling Show in Miami Beach
The Home Show Management Corporation also offers two shows a year at the Miami Beach Convention center. These shows usually take place in March and September. In addition to the celebrity design showcase, you can attend lectures by well-known designers and speak directly to kitchen and bathroom designers who are members of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. At the spring show, there is a chance to win tickets to a Florida Marlins game.

Palm Beach Home Show
The Palm Beach Home Show takes place twice a year, March and October, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. This upscale show offers displays of the latest trends in home decorating and remodeling. Exhibits showcasing solar power, the latest energy efficient products, and green technology are popular with the show's attendees. Designers and painters offer demonstrations of techniques that homeowners can try for themselves. While at the show, patrons can register to win the grand prize of a home or garden makeover.

Getting the Most from a Home Show Visit
In the days leading up to the spring and fall Home Shows, check out the local newspaper for coupons offering reduced admission. Check the websites of the companies that organize the shows too. As of March 2010, Home Show Management Corporation is offering a $2.00 off coupon for its upcoming show in Miami Beach.
Vendors at Home Shows often have special offers, but don't feel pressured to sign a large contract on the spot. Take notes about the products and offers, ask how long the vendor will honor the Home Show price, then go home and research comparable products and prices. If you still want to take advantage of the offer, get back to the same salesperson within the specified period.
