Transport Pets As Cargo From Ontario Airport terminal

Each airline
has its own pet travel policies.

Traveling with pets sometimes can be a challenge, especially when traveling by plane. Travelers flying in or out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) must check the specific guidelines of the airline they are flying when checking pets as baggage. Each airline makes its own policies for pet travel, but there are some basic rules every passenger needs to know.

Instructions

Kennels and Check-In

1. Purchase kennels constructed of authorized material; normally wood, plastic or metal. Kennels also must be leak- and escape-proof. Doors must fasten securely and the kennels must allow for proper ventilation. A water container should always be included. Collapsible kennels are almost never allowed.

2. Use kennels that meet airline size specifications. American Airlines, for instance, allows kennels as large as 40 inches long x 27 inches wide x 30 inches high. Most airlines will accept kennels weighing up 100 lbs. with the pet inside.

3. Check in with your pet(s) at the ticket counter. Most airlines do not allow curbside or self-service check-in when traveling with pets.
