Create A Divider For Any Kennel

Chain link fencing is the key to creating a kennel divider.

Adding a divider to an existing dog kennel doesn't involve any crazy math, no heavy lifting and only one specialty tool that can be rented at most home improvement stores, if you don't already own wire cutters. You'll also need one friend to help you. The size of the existing dog kennel will determine the size of the chain link fencing you will need to purchase and the number of zip ties you will need to use. In under an hour you will be able to double the number of kennels and keep rowdy dogs from causing any problems.

Instructions

1. Measure the current dog kennel to determine the height of fencing you will need to make the divider. The divider needs to be the same height as your current kennel or you run the risk of dogs either scaling or jumping it.

2. Determine the center of one side of the kennel and then the opposite side. These will be the points where you attach the fencing to create the divider.

3. Attach one end of the roll of fencing to the interior of the kennel with zip ties. Zip tie every other link to create a strong connection to the exterior kennel wall.

4. Unroll the fencing and extend it to the opposite side of the kennel.

5. Pull the roll of fencing tight against the kennel wall from the outside of kennel. Have your friend zip tie the top and bottom of the fencing in place while you hold the fencing taut. Then fill in every other link with zip ties to secure it.

6. Cut off the excess fencing with wire cutters.
