Hunting Lodges In Union Springs Alabama

Hunters in Alabama will find big game, such as whitetail deer and wild hogs, and game birds like turkey, pheasant and grouse. Both residents and non-residents of the state must purchase a hunting license -- residents 65 years of age or older do not have to purchase hunting licenses. The city of Union Springs is in the southeastern portion of the state, approximately 40 miles from the state capital of Montgomery.

Great Southern Outdoors

Great Southern Outdoors lodge has 6,000 acres of property under wildlife management, providing a landscape rich with hunting opportunities. This former plantation has been in the same family since the 1880s and it offers hunters three lodging choices. The Black Creek Lodge, built from cypress wood and pine, overlooks a 15-acre lake. Bughall Lodge, built in 1823 and made of cypress wood, sits overlooking the main plantation. The Hunters Hideout is the largest lodge, with six rooms. Each room has its own bathroom. This lodge overlooks an open field. Great Southern Outdoors has a 4,000 square foot activity center with a game room, lounge and restaurant.

Shenandoah Plantation

Hunters can become a member of the Shenandoah Plantation, or purchase individual hunting packages. Trophy bass await anglers in anyone of the lodge's three professionally managed lakes. Hunters can test their skills at the lodge's shotgun range or sight-in their rifles on a 400-yard range. The lodge also offers horseback riding and a tennis court. Accommodations consist of a main house on the shores of a 40-acre lake, and two guesthouses. Meals are served in the main house. One guesthouse has two bedrooms, each with a bath and two double beds, while the second unit is a four-bedroom, four-bath house. The Shenandoah Plantation also maintains a kennel and provides bird dogs to assist hunters in flushing and retrieving game.

Greenway Sportsman Club

Greenway Sportsman Club offers duck hunting on the club's seven lakes. The club also offers fishing and other game hunting. Anglers can use their own small boat with a trolling motor for a fishing expedition. The club offers hiking and ATV trails. The club's lodge serves home-style Southern meals. Six RV sites with water, electricity, sewer and cable TV are also available. Greenway Sportsman Club has a sporting clays course for registered events and fun shoots. The club offers private and charity organizations use of their shooting facilities.

Master Rack Lodge

All wild game hunting packages at Master Rack Lodge include taxidermy services and a complimentary full fishing trip. The lodge has more than 9,000 acres of hunting area and provides hotel style accommodations. Each room is designed for one to four hunters with two to four beds each and a private bath. Master Rack Lodge offers recreational activities such as mountain biking through wooded terrain, hiking and camping.
