Don't want to leave your pet behind as you and the family venture to a Universal Studios theme park? The television and movie-themed parks in Hollywood and Orlando offer kennel services. Universal Orlando Resort also accommodates pets at three on-site hotels.
Kennels
You can board your pet for $15 per day at Universal Orlando Retreat. A 50% discount for one pet is offered to guests who buy a Premier Pass, according to Universal Orlando's web site. Universal Studios Hollywood does not charge for kennel services. Overnight boarding is not available at either park. The parks require that you bring your own pet food and return at least once during the day to walk and feed your animal.
Hotels
Three hotels at Universal Orlando Resort--the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific Resort--provide pet friendly rooms for up to two animals at a time. You will pay a one-time cleaning fee of $25 per room, and you are required to make arrangements for daily housekeeping needs, according to Universal Orlando's web site. Pets are required to be leashed in public areas and should be supervised at all times. The hotels have a list of local pet-sitting facilities, if necessary. Pet owners may be asked to board their dogs in outside kennels if they cause disturbances.
Restrictions
Dogs may be walked in designated areas only at Universal Orlando Resort, and animals are prohibited in the pool and dining areas. Guests are required to clean up after their pets. Any damage or injuries caused by pets is the responsibility of the pet owner, according to the resort's pet policy.
Vaccinations
Universal Orlando Resort requires that all pets have up-to-date vaccinations and that you be prepared to provide hotel staff with veterinary records, if asked.
